Place characters into different environments

Custom zoom in Midjourney

Hello Technicolor Tribe

I hope you’ve been enjoying exploring different styles in my Midjourney style template PDF. If you haven’t seen it yet, you can find it here. It’s free.

The Stable Diffusion course is in the works! I expect to launch it in the middle of August. If you want to get early into the class, please fill out this form.

NOW, let’s get to todays post. Written by a Guest.

I love seeing how other creatives use AI in their work and I want to highlight one of them today - Stefano Baldassari.

We’ve been exploring and collaborating on AI projects since September last year and I love his unrestrained explorative spirit.

He has been exploring techniques inside Midjourney and he is going to share one of them today.

Let’s get to it Stefano!

One of the Midjourney’s most exiting feature is the CUSTOM ZOOM.

Trough this you can keep the subject of your main image and put it into different scenes.

The custom zoom will allow you to OUTPAINT (generate the environment around your subject) while choosing a different ASPECT RATIO ( --ar X:Y )

or by leaving the same aspect ration while zooming out from you subject.

You can change the prompt into a scene you would like to see.

*image link* the eco friendly friends in the polluted city --ar 16:9 --iw 2 --niji 5 --style expressive --zoom 2

The characters will remain exactly the same, while the environment around them changes.

Midjourney is adding new features at a fast pace and each of them opens possibilities for new workflows.

The zoom out feature is one of my favorites and this technique by Stefano is a great one to start experimenting with.
