How do you implement AI into your workflow?
Hello Creators.
How can we actually implement AI into our workflow?
I'm working with a team of 2D artists, looking for ways AI can support their workflows. I want to share my approach with you in hopes that it might open a perspective for your own work.
First thing we did, is breakdown of the current process.
Every creative has their own process that feels good to them. Breaking it down into layers helps us see which parts can be assisted with AI and which need manual work.
In my case, this we had four main steps:
Concept
Styling
Details
Coloring
Now the question is - which step takes up most of your time, effort AND you would like to speed up.
In my case the answer is Concept and Styling.
AI is very good at creating concepts. Instead of sketching out a concept, we can generate multiple images with different concepts, camera angles, perspectives, lightings, etc.
It speeds up the process immensely.
Second step is the Styling.
Drawing lines for every individual frame becomes tiresome and time consuming. Developing prompt templates or individually trained AI models allows us to shift some of that process to AI.
We might not get final results with AI, but it will do a lot of the heavy lifting for us, which leaves time for us to do what we enjoy.
Which is the third very important factor - Fun.
If creating is not fun for you, AI will make it even less so. Ask yourself what makes creating fun for you?
AI can speed up your process and do some of the work for you, but ultimately, the personality for your work comes from you.
As always, feel free to reach out and start a conversation. I've launched a new website where you can find more information as well.
Keep creating and don't forget to have fun. ☀
